Thank you to everyone who has bought wristbands over the past year. The money made has covered the cost of the bands, but also enabled us to be able to afford to have leaflets produced professionally last August which has been fantastic. We are currently trying to raise money to have our SIA booklet 2007 printed professionally. Any profit made from wristband sales will go directly into making this happen (remember you can also give donations to LifeSIGNS). However, the main aim of wristbands is not to make money, it is to raise awareness about self-injury and lifeSIGNS in a visual way.

I’m pleased to say that I have now been wearing my wristband for a year – it never comes off (even when I’m dressed up for a formal event!), and Al wears his all the time as well, which makes me feel very happy. One of my colleagues at work wears hers a lot, and I feel priviledged that people with no experience of self-injury are happy to wear the wristbands. I hop that you will buy a few and hopefully spread the word!

The good news is that we have introduced new prices for 2007 – this means that prices are going down if you buy in bulk! The wristbands are orange and made from silicone (and don’t lose their colour even after a year!), with words engraved that say “SI Awareness” and “http://www.lifesigns.org.uk/“.
