Linking to LifeSIGNS
It’s always wonderful to see amazing websites and organisations link to LifeSIGNS, but it seems that many organisations get our details wrong!
We have three details to consider, our name, our strap-line and our web address (URL).
Our name is LifeSIGNS, it is not Life Signs, or Lifesigns. Our name is made up of the word ‘Life’ and the acronym ‘SIGNS’ – because it is an acronym, it needs to be in capitals! So our name is LifeSIGNS, one word, with a capital L and SIGNS in capitals; no other spelling will suffice!
But what does ‘SIGNS’ stand for then? That’s when our strap-line comes in.
SIGNS stands for Self Injury Guidance & Network Support. Because there’s no ‘A’ in the word, it’s important to use ‘&’ instead of the word ‘and’ OK?
So, we are LifeSIGNS: Self Injury Guidance & Network Support, because we are a ‘network organisation’ that gives ‘guidance and support’ around the subject of self-injury.
Our web address, our URL is www.lifesigns.org.uk – see how simple that is? We’re an organisation in the UK, so we are lifesigns.org.uk OK?
