You’ve donated, but we’re really surprised

Just recently, we explained that we’ve had a pretty bad year and we asked for your financial help.

We’ve been really surprised, for two reasons.

First, we have to thank the generous people who dug deep and donated between £5 and £50 each – you’re helping us pay for our ongoing web costs, some printing and the early work needed to launch a redesigned website. We were really touched by all your messages and very surprised by your donations.

But we were also surprised by how few people chose to donate the £1 or $1 we originally asked for. We thought that if a few hundred people sent us just a pound each, we’d have enough money to take us into 2013 and we’d also know we have the support of our members.

We know that not everyone has a debit card, or PayPal, and we know that not ‘everyone’ will have seen our articles and email about our need for donations.

We’re just hoping that enough of you will be able to give us a pound or a dollar so we can keep going. We’ve been raising awareness and helping people for ten years now, and those of us running our organisation are always putting cash into the kitty. We need help. We need your help, now, urgently.

We don’t mean to sound ungrateful for the donations we’ve already received – we’re incredibly thankful for them. Also, we appreciate that you may have appeals for donations coming from several causes. We just want to give you, our members, the best service we can. And we want to survive. Unfortunately, this comes at a price to us.

Please donate here, the instructions explain that you don’t need a PayPal account if you have a debit account, and if you do have PayPal, it’s really easy. Don’t donate if you can’t afford to, but please give just a pound if you can.

Thank you.

I think most people can say they have a quid they can donate. Please please if you can, and you are willing, please donate your quid and then i hope everyone else will too so that quid mounts up to several hundred quids. its important. we cant afford to loose the support that lifesigns gives people of all ages. Think how many times something you have read on here has helped you to resist the urge that time or to give you the motivation to keep trying even though you have slipped. You cant even buy a coffee or a cup of tea for a quid any more so please – just a quid. you can do it and so can everyone else. Together we need to show support and appreciation for all the team of volunteers do with this support site. Plus, it makes you feel better giving to charity – if you don’t believe me then give it a go and see for yourself!
