Summer meet-up

We’re arranging a real-life day out, and you’re invited to come along for an informal chat and a wander around a museum and art gallery.

Our Summer Meet-ups are just friendly get togethers when we meet for a drink and a chat.  It’s not a meeting, or a discussion about self-injury or anything like that, it’s really just a meet-up.

This year, we’re meeting in Birmingham. We’re sorry we can’t do Leeds, Cardiff or London this year. Hopefully, people who live some way away might feel OK about hopping on a train to Brum.

Everyone is invited. We’d love to meet you.

This year we’re going to meet in a museum café and then we’ll split up into little groups for a wander around the museum and art gallery. Then we’ll meet again in the cafe (we guess) for a chat.

Details

Chamberlain Square, Birmingham, B3 3DH [Map]

It’s a short walk from the train station up the main street (New Street).

Phone Wedge on 07950 705258 or tweet @LifeSIGNS if you get a bit lost or delayed.

Itinerary

The museum is free to enter.

  • 12 midday – meet in the Edwardian Tea Room – Wedge and Jules will be early and having a little bite to eat.
  • 12:30pm – split into groups (no pressure, we might just split into two groups) and go for a wander around the museum and around the art gallery (if you can find it!).
  • 2:30pm – meet again in the Tea Room (unless we’ve all decided to meet outside if it’s a really nice day)
  • 3:00pm – end.

Attend

Anyone over 16 may attend; you’re welcome to bring a friend or two.

Please register your interest either via our Facebook Event or via our Meetup event. If you need to, please register simply by emailing Jules@lifesigns.org.uk

There’s no charge for attending, this is just a friendly meet-up. Please remember to budget for any travel you may need to pay for, and for your food and drink for the day. Travel safely; plan your route in advance. If you need to use the trains, buy your tickets in advance so they’re a bit cheaper.

While we believe the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is accessible (and has lifts) there are steps at the main entrance and steps around the building; a side entrance offers level access. Please email Jules@lifesigns.org.uk if you have any individual needs or concerns / questions.

We’re really looking forward to meeting you, and people have always enjoyed our past Summer Meet-ups.
