A little inspiration
Wedge is always encouraging me to write more personal blogs, and as you know we like to be inspiring and empowering here at FirstSigns, so I thought a little positive inspiration would be good.
One of my friends stuck a little note on my computer this morning saying: “Thank you for loving me when I least deserve it, because that’s when I need it the most.” I knew it was an adaptation of a quote I’d seen before, and I set about finding out the source. It turns out it’s a Swedish Proverb, and in my search I came across many little words of wisdom.
So, I’ve cheated a little here with this blog and put together some little quotes for you to ponder on when the world seems bleak and you’re feeling overwhelmed by life.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
When you reach the end of your rope, tie a knot in it and hang on. ~ Thomas Jefferson
Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow, it only saps today of its joy. ~Leo Buscaglia
Hope is like a road in the country; there was never a road, but when many people walk on it, the road comes into existence. ~ Lin Yutang
I keep the telephone of my mind open to peace, harmony, health, love and abundance. Then, whenever doubt, anxiety or fear try to call me, they keep getting a busy signal – and soon they’ll forget my number. ~Edith Armstrong
Worry often gives a small thing a big shadow. ~Swedish Proverb
Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all. ~ Dale Carnegie
Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow them. ~ Louisa May Alcott
Never look down on anybody unless you’re helping him up. ~ Jesse Jackson
Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. ~ Winston Churchill
We come to love not by finding a perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly. ~ Sam Keen
