Self-Injury Film!

I was really interested to read that a documentary film is going to be made about self-injury called “Cut:teens and Self-Injury“, featuring individual’s who self-inure and their experiences, as well as the experiences from the perspective of a counsellor. Filmmaker Wendy Schneider hopes that the film will be used to “help educate and to supplement recovery.” The film will also feature the lead singer of the rock band “Garbage” Shirley Manson as she talks about her personal experience of self-injury.

While the film will focus on teenagers, I do feel that there is certainly a need for films to be made about self-injury to compliment the excellent books which are being written at the moment.
