LifeSIGNS is a registered charity!

After two years of planning and filling in forms (and filling them in again) and getting ourselves into proper order, LifeSIGNS has finally been registered by the Charity Commission as Registered Charity No 1114661.

By becoming a charity, LifeSIGNS will find it easier to raise awareness about self injury, and provide a voice for its members, who fully support and direct the work undertaken by LifeSIGNS.

“Our members are the driving force of LifeSIGNS;” said Wedge, a founding Director of LifeSIGNS, “they give us so much support, allowing LifeSIGNS insight into their emotional worlds and the chance to understand what drives us to hurt ourselves as a way of coping with life.
“Now that LifeSIGNS has become a charity, I feel that the organisation I started four years ago has been validated and recognised – there’s a very real need for LifeSIGNS and the work we do, I’m proud of all the Management Committee who have worked so hard toprovide information and support for people experiencing emotional distress. Self injury is a serious affliction and something we at LifeSIGNS have first-hand experience of. We also know that health and happiness are within the reach of everyone, and we hope to support people as they make choices and changes in their lives.”

Our Annual Report 2005 is available online.
