Well I must say that Google really loves us now, we’re number 1 when you type in ‘LifeSIGNS’ :o)
But what I really wanted to talk about was fame. Fame? Yes, having strangers know you. You see, as a webmaster of LifeSIGNS I can see how people have found our site, as the technology traces peoples search habits. Many surfers use Google to search for general information on self injury that leads them to LifeSIGNS, and yet some surfers are seeking very specific information about LifeSIGNS.
It gives me an unpleasant jolt when I see people searching for “wedge director of lifesigns” as a search term. I suppose I should be flattered that people remember my name and look for our Organisation. It’s just odd to think that there are people out there thinking of me when they’re on the internet.
We now publish a Technical Report that details how the website is performing, and you can read it from the Admin Page.
URL Change
Yes, well, we’ve listened to you the surfer, and you’ve told us that you’d remember the web address of LifeSIGNS if it were easier. For the past 2 years, we’ve been found at www.lifesigns.ukf.net
Soon, we’ll move to www.selfharm.org so that more people can remember our web address, but don’t worry, we’ll still be using the lifesigns.ukf.net address so you’ll always be able to find us.
