Hola to all!
Thought I would write and let you all know about the Great things which have been exciting me this past few weeks!! (I’m going to do separate Posts for the ‘different’ things, otherwise *this* will be too long…)
Firstly a HUGE thank-you to the students who make up the Grey College JCR, University of Durham. LifeSIGNS was chosen as the Organisation which recieved ALL money raised during the Freshers week this year. The exact amount raised will be posted once it is known, but the various associated events included:
– A balloon race with the release of 500 balloons (one of which has already come back from Sweden!!!) Students sponsored the ballons at 50p each.
– Tickets were sold to Non-Freshers who attended a comedy Hypnotist show
– A 50p entrance donation for a Quiz in the college Bar
– Entrance tickets to a Clubbing night at Cafe Rock, in Durham for the college
All 364 Freshers were also provided with an introduction and thank – you letter from LifeSIGNS and information and posters were available all week to help raise awareness and educate people about SI. All in all it’s been a great success and hopefully you will be able to monitor the great things which this money enables us to do through the Website and Members MSN group.
