Yay. Grey College (Part of the University of Durham) is going to be releasing 500 balloons as part of their Freshers Week, on Monday 6th October 2003. The balloon race will raise much needed money for LifeSIGNS, as Freshers make a minimum donation of 50p (Per balloon) and the person whos balloon is returned from the furthest away will recieve a prize – donated by a local Durham business. If everything goes according to plan (keep your fingers crossed) then we should be able to make around £200 for LifeSIGNS to use for publishing leaflets etc. and raising awareness of SI.

All the balloons and labels are produced using 100% biodegradeable materials so that they wont be harmful to the environment.

I’ll try and take some good photos so that they can be put on the website for everyone to see.
